Decoding the Blue Screen of Death

written by - Leave a reply

The blue screen of death is never a welcome surprise on your computer system. Usually indicating some sort of system failure, a blue screen is a very good diagnostic starting pad, despite the feeling of dread it instills.

The blue screen of death (or BSOD) can be broken down into three sections…

1. THE_CAPITALIZED_LETTERS_ON_THE_TOP
2. The Stop Code, usually formatted like this: 0x00000f16 (0x111112Fc, 0×00000000…)
3. The line directly beneath the Stop Code, indicating a system file (if any) causing the blue screen.

With these three pieces of information a good computer technician can generalize a cause, and work to diagnose the issue. Here at RhineTech we have over 7 years of experience decoding the Blue Screen, and urge you to contact us if you experience one. We can help you figure out the problem, and get you back on track quickly!
